Recent Statistics Confirm Saskatchewan’s Economy is Strong
According to a recent economic checklist released by Statistics Canada, Saskatchewan ranks highly in nine out of ten economic areas. "There probably has never been a time in our history when we can make the claim that Saskatchewan is at the top or close to it in so many areas of our economy," Enterprise and Innovation Minister Lyle Stewart said.
Saskatchewan ranked number one in the country for the highest percentage growth in the areas of wholesale trade, retail sales, residential building permits, and average economic GDP growth.
The areas of population growth, average weekly earnings, lowest unemployment rate, new vehicle sales, and overall building permits were ranked second for the province.
"A strong, vibrant economy is good for everyone because it brings more opportunities, higher wages and a better quality of life for Saskatchewan people."
