Keith D. Boyd, Q.C. of Kanuka Thuringer LLP has announced his retirement from the partnership of the firm as of December 31, 2017.

Keith graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a B.A. and LL.B in 1970 and was admitted to the Saskatchewan Bar in 1971.  He joined the then-firm of Pierce, Hleck, Kanuka, Goetz, Thuringer, Semenchuck and Naylen in 1973.

Throughout his long career, Keith was recognized as a practice leader in the areas of oil and gas, potash, energy and natural resources, business and commercial law, surface rights and commercial real estate.

Keith was a member and past director of the Canadian Energy Law Foundation, and served in various capacities with the Canadian Bar Association and numerous community organizations.

He was also instrumental as a key managing partner of the firm over the last 35 years.

His many accomplishments include:

    •        • Being Appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2001.
    •        • Listed in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory as a leading practitioner in Saskatchewan in the area of Energy - Oil & Gas.
    •        • Listed in The Best Lawyers in Canada in the area of Natural Resources Law from 2012-2018.
    •        • Named The Best Lawyers in Canada's "Lawyer of the Year" in Natural Resources Law for Regina in 2012 and 2016.
    •        • Receiving the HRH Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012.
