Practice Concentration & Experience Gary is a seasoned civil litigator with extensive experience before all levels of court in Saskatchewan, from the trial level through to the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada. He represents insurers and insureds covering the full spectrum of insurance law, including coverage issues, subrogation claims, general liability ,and professional liability. He also represents commercial and corporate clients in major commercial litigation.
Gary is currently listed in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory as a leading practitioner in the areas of Litigation - Commercial Insurance, Litigation - Corporate Commercial. He is also listed in the 2008, 2009, and 2010 editions of The Best Lawyers in Canada in the areas of Corporate and Commercial Litigation and Insurance Law.
Gary also has an active construction law practice. In 1984, Gary served as Chair of the Special Advisory Committee to the Minister of Justice on Builders' Liens. That Committee Report was the basis for a new Builders' Lien Act in Saskatchewan. He has also lectured at professional and industry seminars on The Builders' Lien Act and other construction law issues. He represents contractors, subcontractors, owners, and suppliers with respect to all manner of construction disputes.
Gary also has considerable experience before various administrative tribunals and regulatory bodies, and has served on numerous arbitration boards as a single arbitrator, as a board member and as chair of the arbitration board.
Gary is a former bencher of the Law Society of Saskatchewan and member of the Canadian Lawyers Insurance Association. He is also a former member of the Saskatchewan Judicial Council, and a former lecturer at the Saskatchewan Bar Admission Course.
